The market will once again be located on Washington Street between Main and Front Streets in the heart of the City of New Baltimore, located in the Northeast corner of Macomb County on the Anchor Bay shores of Lake St. Clair. Market hours are 9:00 am – 2:00 pm with FREE Yoga in the Park held during market days from 11am-Noon in the months of June through August with rain day yoga to be held inside the nearby MacDonald Public Library.

The NBFM would like to express their appreciation to local leaders and business owners for their continued support as well as to the following businesses & organizations for their seasonal sponsorship: Biggby Coffee of New Baltimore, Coordinated Crafters LLC, Davis-Vandenbossche Insurance Agency, Macomb County-Make Macomb Your Home, Meijer, The Village of East Harbor, Community First Health Centers, Brieden Orthodontics and Harbor Oaks Hospital.

Newly-elected NBFM Board President Sierra Lyons expresses: “We are proud to once again bring the market to the community with the support of local leaders & business owners, our sponsors as well as our customers, vendors, & participants. This support allows us to offer not only our regular weekly markets but also to host the annual Special Event Markets that the community enjoys and has come to look forwardto each season.” Special event markets take place each month with information & details available at our website www.newbaltimorefarmersmarket.com and sponsorship opportunities are still available.

MIFMA-Certified Market Manager Debra Williams adds: “This season we are happy to have over 10 farmers/growers along with locally-sourced, produced honey & maple syrup; more than 12 local food vendors; a wide-variety of handmade/homemade products; artists; an assortment of entrepreneurs; and more! Last year the market averaged over 1600 visitors per Sunday. We anticipate seeing more shoppersthis year due to increased promotion efforts by the NBFM Board of Directors and myself.”

The NBFM believes in everyone having access to fresh, healthy, and local food; which is why the market has accepted Bridge Cards since 2011 & Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) since 2012. Once again, the NBFM will offer up to $20 in FREE Michigan produce per market day for each shopper using SNAP benefits on their Bridge Card through the DUFB Program all season long. This program benefits the community by allowing shoppers more access to healthy, local food while adding sales to the farmers, growers, producers & food vendors. Outdoor Hub : Lake St. Clair Offers Prime Summer Bass Fishing
Although mostly known for smallmouths, Lake St. Clair boasts excellent largemouths, too. Ask 10 bass fishermen to rattle off the best bass lakes in Michigan and if nine of them don’t mention Lake St. Clair right off the bat, there’s something wrong with your sample. Lake St. Clair is and always has been one of the best bass lakes—and not only in Michigan, but in the country. In fact, it’s one of the best bass lakes in two countries, as Michigan shares the 430-square mile Great Lakes connecting water with Ontario, Canada.

Lake St. Clair a great North American fishing destination
The Lake St. Clair fishery - which includes fish, people and habitat - is widely regarded as one of the best in North America, and provides significant social and economic benefits. Fish such as yellow perch (the favorite food fish in the Great Lakes) and walleye represent significant protein sources. Economically, the Michigan waters of the Lake St. Clair system generated $36 million in economic activity in 2004 alone. Fishing is, for many, a lot of fun, and as a recreational fishery, it provides many physical and mental benefits to people. Moreover, a healthy fish population equals a more stable ecosystem.
