Adult Nature Series: Woodpeckers of SE Michigan
Sunday, March 11 at 1:00pm
Woodpeckers are some of the most common birds to be found in southeast Michigan. During this Adult Natural History Program, you will learn to identify these energetic birds by eye and by ear, and you will examine their unique adaptations, feeding habits, means of communication and behavior. Come to this indoor talk, followed by an outdoor hike. For ages 18 and up. Preregistration required and begins two weeks prior to the program.

On Sunday, May 26th the City of St. Clair Shores will host their annual Sailing Thru the Shores 5K Run and 61st Annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade will start at 9 mile and proceeds north on Jefferson to 11 mile. It is one of the biggest memorial day parade in Michigan.

Four organizations with a strong connection and dedication to Lake St. Clair are hosting a major celebration of the lake and its assets Saturday, June 9th, with activities to take place at MacRay Harbor on North River Road in Harrison Township. This year will feature kid’s activities, boating educational displays, a nautical yard sale and an expanded list of events and activities. All are free and open to the public. .

Join us for the 11th annual Retrofest celebration, May 24 and 25 in the “Classic Car Capitol of Canada,” Chatham, Ontario. In what is sure to be the biggest and best Retrofest to date, the 2013 event will see more than 1,000 collector cars gather on the streets of Chatham’s historic downtown core. Joining the selection of exceptional automobiles, will be a number of fun activities including the OLG Classic Car Cruise, free movie in Tecumseh Park, live music, hot air balloon rides, a zip line a host of other nostalgic fun for the entire family!

This Second Annual event is coming to the Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Township on Saturday, June 15, 2013! The event includes: a Duathlon (5K Run & 2 Mile Kayak), a 5K Fun Run and a Stand-up Paddling Competition (2 Mile Rec or 6 Mile WPA Sanctioned).

This year River Day will be held on Saturday, June 8th. This date coincides with Michigan's Free Fishing Weekend. What a great way to celebrate all that the Clinton River, its watershed and Lake St. Clair have to offer residents of Southeast Michigan for hiking, biking, boating, fishing and more!

GM River Days presented by the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, returns June 21-23, 2013. This one of a kind festival takes place along the Detroit Riverfront – from the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority Terminal & Dock just west of the GM Renaissance Center, to Rivard Plaza and the William G. Milliken State Park. River Days is a celebration of Detroit’s RiverWalk with activities on land and water.
